Nicklas Bendtner: I won't play for Arsenal again

Nicklas Bendtner's Arsenal career appears to be over after the forward vowed never to play for Arsene Wenger's side again.

Bendtner sealed a season-long loan to Sunderland on deadline day after failing to land a permanent move away from the Emirates Stadium over the summer. The nature of Bendtner's move to the Stadium of Light suggests there is a future for the Denmark international at Arsenal.

But Bendtner's latest comments will do little to appease Arsenal fans already frustrated with man who described himself as one of the best strikers in European football. 'I will never go back to Arsenal', Bendtner said. 'If I can have it my way, I will never play for them again.'

After six years at the north London club, Bendtner has found the back of the net on just 43 occasions for the Gunners. But the Denmark international insists he was never given a chance by Wenger after a major car crash two years ago.

Bendtner suffered shoulder and leg injuries after writing off his Aston Martin in September 2009. 'After my car accident I never really got the chance to earn a spot in the first team,' said Bendtner. 'That is over one-and-a-half years with no real chance to prove myself. 'I am really looking forward to playing for Sunderland and then we will see next summer. 'I will find a new club - but I will not go back to Arsenal, that's for sure.'
